Living ferments, ready when you are.
FAQs
Questions about ferments, shipping and other signs of life? You’ve landed in the right place. What exactly are living ferments?
Vegetables transformed through natural fermentation—and kept raw and refrigerated so their naturally occurring living cultures stay, well, living.
Are these pickled or fermented?
Fermented. No vinegar shortcuts here. Time, salt and living cultures create the tang.
Do your ferments contain probiotics?
They contain naturally occurring living cultures created during fermentation. Because we don’t add isolated probiotic strains, we prefer the more accurate—and less hypey—term living cultures.
How do I eat them?
Tear. Eat. Feel human. Enjoy them straight from the pouch or add them to eggs, tacos, sandwiches, salads and bowls.
Is one pouch one serving?
Each 50 g pouch is individually portioned and ready when you are—no measuring, draining or abandoned jar in the back of the fridge.
When should I eat them?
Breakfast, lunch, dinner or emergency snack. There is no wrong orbit.
What’s the liquid in the pouch?
That flavorful brine is part of the fermentation process. Eat it with the vegetables, drizzle it onto your meal or sip it if that’s your thing.
Are all the pouches exactly the same?
Not quite. Fermentation is alive, vegetables are vegetables, and nature refuses to use a ruler. Small differences in color, texture and tang are completely normal.
What’s with the messages on the pouches?
Every pouch carries a little affirmation for personal discovery. Collect them, contemplate them or let the universe decide what you needed to hear today.
Do they need to stay refrigerated?
Yes. They’re alive, after all. Keep them refrigerated until you’re ready to eat.
Why does my pouch look a little expanded?
Signs of life. Living cultures can naturally create CO₂, so some space-time expansion is normal. Keep refrigerated.
Why isn’t my pouch expanded?
Also completely normal. Living cultures move at their own pace, so some pouches create more CO₂ than others. Expanded or not, there’s life inside. Keep refrigerated.
How do I know if something is wrong?
A little expansion and tang are normal. A leaking, damaged or unsealed pouch is not. Don’t eat it—contact us within 24 hours and we’ll make it right.
